Brian has an extensive experience in commercial dispute resolution practice areas, including investment, shareholder, and aviation and shipping disputes, bankruptcy/restructuring, as well as investigation and other compliance-related works. He was involved in a number of major dispute-related matters, such as the debt restructuring of Mandala and Batavia airlines, PT Berlian Laju Tanker in 2016 (this was named as Restructuring Deal of the Year in 2016), class action proceedings, as well as local and international arbitration proceedings in various areas, such as oil and gas, construction, banking, real estate and aviation.
Brian has assisted Indonesian conglomerates, multi-national companies, state-owned banks, and state-owned enterprises in dispute and general corporate matters, including in negotiating a divestment plan of a major US-based mining company with the Government of Indonesia.
Before joining MHM, Brian held position as Associate Partner at HHP Law Firm, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International in Indonesia. He graduated from Columbia University School of Law for his LL.M degree, after graduating from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia. Helena has extensive experience in handling a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including merger and acquisitions, joint venture transactions, and corporate restructuring. She has advised domestic and international clients on foreign direct investment, corporate compliance, general corporate matters, and digital initiatives across a variety of industries such as healthcare and pharmaceutical, food and beverage, trading, and manufacturing.
With her deep expertise in healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, Helena has advised clients on business expansions strategies, local distributor engagement and termination, product licensing requirements, day-to-day corporate compliance exercises, as well as procurement and tender process by governmental institutions.
Before practicing at MHM, Helena was a legal counsel at an Indonesian investment arm of a global pharmaceutical company after practicing law at prominent Indonesian law firms, including HHP Law Firm, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International in Indonesia. She graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University in 2009, and obtained her master’s degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2017 on a scholarship awarded by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).
